Our mission is to enable all Tahitian companies to operate sustainably with respect to nature and community. This means aiming for zero carbon emissions, zero waste, smart supply chains, sustainable internal policies, and a positive impact on the local community.
Meet the founder
Marushka is an NGO founder and entrepreneur specializing in ESG practices, circular economy, and sustainable development in Oceania.
About Marushka
Marushka has secured partnerships with global foundations, incubators, and corporations; managed sustainability government-funded programs in Oceania; managed over $1M in nonprofit assets; created digital programs reaching over 100,000 individuals; and worked on sustainability efforts at festivals reaching over 200,000 attendees.
Marushka is the co-founder and founding board president of South Pacific Islander Organization, a 501c3 nonprofit building Pacific Islander presence in higher education and professional fields, globally. Previously, she served as the VP of Entrepreneurship for Smart Oceania, a Pacific Islander woman owned consulting firm supporting Pacific Islander entrepreneurs in accessing international markets. Through a partnership with La French Tech Polynésie, Marushka consulted with early-stage startups in the health, sustainability, and e-commerce industries. She also worked at some of the world’s largest festivals, including Coachella, EDC, Maker Faire, First City Festival, and Treasure Island Festival on their sustainability initiatives. She worked with Tahitian government agencies on ESG efforts and managed a sustainability festival in Tahiti.
From 2016-2018, she worked at Stanford University across multiple offices as a Program Manager, Student Services Specialist, Admission Counselor for Diversity Outreach & External Relations, Alumni Volunteer Relations Coordinator, and API (Asian and Pacific Islander) Diversity Outreach Liaison. She received a Stanford Student Affairs Team Impact Award in 2018. From 2014-2015, she worked at ORACLE Corporation as an Associate Solutions Consultant.
She previously served as a Board Member for Stanford Asian Pacific American Alumni Club, an Advisory Council Member for Stanford’s Asian American Activities Center (A3C), and as a member of the National Pacific Islander Education Network’s (NPIEN) Northern California Chapter.
Marushka is a first-generation college graduate from Stanford University with a B.S. in Science, Technology and Society with a focus in Environment and Sustainability. She was awarded an Award of Excellence from the Stanford Alumni Association in 2014. She received a LEED AP in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C) and a Construction Project Management Certificate from Columbia University.
As an undergrad student, she served as the Financial Officer for Stanford Powwow, the largest student-run Powwow in the U.S, and as co-chair and financial officer of the Stanford American Indian Organization. Marushka was born in Tahiti, grew up on Tongva and Peoria land, and currently lives in Papeete with her husband and daughter.
